Abstract: Public Policy think-tanks in India have only recently begun to explore the idea of bringing emic perspectives1 to challenge/disrupt existing worldviews. Indian think-tanks have historically treated India as a young nation state territory as opposed to a cultural civilization with an independent Indian world view that can challenge Western dogmas. The emic views emerging out of the case and its analysis presents an opportunity to evaluate & contrast leadership through an Indic lens as opposed to western frameworks found a plenty in management theory.

Learning Objectives: On completion of pre-reading and case reading, researching into video links within the case and understanding the exhibits carefully, it is highly recommended that the faculty lead the case discussion in order to ensure comprehension of key concepts. When these steps are adhered, the following learning objectives can be expected:

  2. Students may additionally attain an enhanced appreciation for the importance of an emic view in re-evaluating the world including approaches to management studies.
