Abstract: This case explores how the Naandi Foundation, under the leadership of CEO Manoj Kumar, transformed Araku Valley into a globally recognized example of regenerative agriculture through the Araku Coffee initiative. Building on this success, Manoj seeks to explore whether and how the Arakunomics model can be scaled to new geographies specifically Wardha and New Delhi, which present vastly different socio-cultural and agro-environmental conditions. The case focuses on the dilemmas involved in adapting a context-specific, community-led development model to new, complex terrains. Students are invited to analyze the trade-offs between scaling and contextual sensitivity, and leadership versus stakeholder engagement strategies that may be needed for inclusive and sustainable development. This teaching note provides discussion frameworks, theoretical lenses, and pedagogical strategies for understanding DEI-driven enterprise transformation and scaling challenges in diverse development contexts.
